This policy explains how Splyt ("Splyt", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit wearesplyt.com or get in touch with us. We are the "data controller" responsible for your personal data.
1. The information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete our enquiry form or email us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, store or website URL, monthly revenue range, and anything you choose to include in your message.
Information we collect automatically
When website analytics are enabled, we may collect technical information about your visit — such as device and browser type, approximate location, IP address, the pages you view and how you arrived — using cookies and similar technologies (see section 3).
We do not knowingly collect special category data, and our website is not directed at children.
2. How we use it, and our lawful bases
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your data. We rely on the following:
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss whether we're a fit — legitimate interests, and taking steps at your request before any contract.
- To deliver our services if you become a client — performance of a contract.
- To measure and improve our website — consent (where required for analytics cookies) or legitimate interests.
- To send you marketing, only where you've asked us to — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — legal obligation.
3. Cookies & analytics
Essential cookies keep the site working and don't require consent. Where we use analytics (for example Google Analytics) or advertising and conversion tracking (for example Google Ads, Meta or TikTok pixels), those cookies are set only with your consent, which you can give or decline via our cookie banner and change at any time. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary, with:
- Service providers who help us operate — for example our website form provider, email provider and analytics provider — who process data on our behalf under contract.
- Advertising platforms (such as Google, Meta and TikTok) where relevant to delivering campaigns for you as a client.
- Professional advisers and authorities where we're required to by law.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where your data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as UK "adequacy" regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards [e.g. 24 months]. If you become a client, we keep your data for the duration of our engagement and for any period required by law afterwards (for example, accounting records are generally kept for 6 years).
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to its use; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@wearesplyt.com. There's usually no fee, and we'll respond within one month.
8. How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your data secure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always appear on this page, with the "last updated" date at the top.
